Question: Is it
better having a radon aerator which provides 40
l/min than 20 l/min?
Answer : A
radon aerator shall always provide at least 20 l/min
but never more than the well pump. A normal
pump for a household rarely delivers more than app.
20 l/min, after pressure, height and loss of
friction (at 2 bar pressure). A radon aerator that
is "too large" in relation to your well pump creates
unnecessary wear and tear to your radon aerator.
Therefore,
Radonett has 5 different models which can fit
properly with your construction.
However,
make note that 40 l/min of water on the grass field
coming out of a garden hose is not the same thing as
40 l/min in water taps in a house; that is where you
want to have pressure in all your taps and that's
where the torrent is minimized considerably. The
Radonett torrent is calculated at 2 bar pressure and
has a working pressure of up to app.4.5 bar (1 bar =
1 kg).
The lowest
pressure Radonett provides over 50 liters per minute
without extra pressure being applied(!) and app. 20
l/min at 2 bar with pressure.
Question: How do
you calculate the degree of purification for various
radon/Co2 aerators?
Answer :
It is relatively simple to build a radon aerator
that provides a high degree of purification after a
little tap volume and low pressure.
However,
observe that the water should be clean even if many
people are showering at the same time. The pressure
should be sufficient in all of the house's
taps. The degree of purification shall be calculated
at a rate of 20 l/min with 2 bar pressure at a tap
volume of 1000 liters. This norm is an EU standard
assumed by Jonny Andersson Radonett/Sarholms Sverige.
This norm is
demanded for a EPD noticed/approved radon
aerator. The norm is being used because in the
future, the radon aerator's measuring results will
be based on similar conditions. Radonett är Europas
only EPD approved radon aerator .
Question: How
much noise does a radon aerator generate?
Answer : Radonett has a volume level of app. 56 dB, which
meets the normal tone of conversation. NB that
Radonett is only functioning when you are washing,
showering, rinsing, etc. It does not run the
whole day.
Question: What
does is cost to use a radon/Co2 aerator?
Answer :
Radonett A1UV has an operating cost (electricity
filter UV lamp, etc.) of several hundred crowns per
year!
Question: Can I
install a radon aerator myself?
Answer :
Installing a Radonett is much like the new
installation of a wash machine (plus an exhaust
pipe through the wall surface).
If you do
this type of work at home, you can easily install a
Radonett. A very complete installation instruction
manual is included in the delivery.
Question: Is the
guarantee still valid if you install the radon
aerator yourself.
Answer :
Yes, for Radonett.
Question: Does a
radon aerator remove more than just radon.
Answer :
Radonett removes radon gas, radon daughters, methane
gas, sulphur hydrogen, carbon dioxide, aggressive
carbonic acid, and increases a low pH. Flocks iron
and manganese through the aeration process.
This includes bacterial purification of process air
with UV light. Radonett can be completed with a
special filter for removing uranium.
Radonett
makes water good and wholesome with a clear and
fresh taste.
Question: Can
you use carbon filters to remove radon from water?
Answer : Yes,
if the percentage isn't too high. Carbon filter
tubes can provid a lower initial cost but, over
time, they become expensive and troublesome because
the filter pulps need to be changed regularly.
All
water must be put through filter pulps, not only
drinking water (it is when the radon spreads from
the shower and dishwater, etc. which is the most
dangerous, not only the intake of radon-contaminated
water). Thus, filter tubes must be dimensioned for
the entire household. Filter tubes
should be disassembled and changed at the filter
pulps regularly.
Filter tubes
must not be placed in the living quarters space
without radiation protection. The filter pulp is
radioactive and should be deposited at a specially
assigned place and treated carefully. Also see
STUK/tenawa rapporten,
and
http://www.uni-mainz.de/~eswe/tenawa.htm
(about the risk of radiation damage, etc. caused by
filter tubes).
Question: Do I
know if the radon aerator is functioning even after
many years or to I have to conduct a water test
regularly?
Answer :
Water tests should always be taken after app. one
week after installation in order to control whether
the installer has installed the device
properly.
Radonett
radon aerators use only 1 pump (motor) for all
of the radon aerator's functions. If this motor
should stop, the purification stops as well, but at
the same time so does the water supply to the
household because everything is connected to and
using the same pump. If you have a machine with 2 or
3 motors, (fans, purification pump, pressure pump)
and then the purification pump or the fan stops,
non-purified water comes out into the household
spickets through the pressure pump without anyone
noticing it. With Radonett, you are not taking the
chance that you receive non-purified water within
the household because if the purification stops and
thus, the entire water supply is put on hold.
Question: Can
you purify the water right in the boring hole?
Answer :
Yes, this was proven over a decade ago. It takes a
long time to purify water when you have tapped a
certain quantity of water and the rest comes out
partly non-purified. The water in the drill hole
moves sideways while the pure water is transported
out quickly forward through different drill holes.
Thus, it can be difficult to predict the exact
result. A drill hole with cold water has a greater
sideways flow than a "warm hole". Normally,
the water contains iron and manganese because the
remainders are returned to the drill hole and a part
is sucked back through the pump in an eternal
circulation.
Question:
Plastic or rust-free
steel?
Answer : Plastic contains softeners
(the fatty film that remains no mater how many times
you wash a plastic bowl). In such a bowl, impurities
get caught and - together with impure air – creates
the grounds for bacteria and mould. Rust-free steel
is currently used for the production of persihables.
Rust-free
steel is is more expensive to
manufacture.
Question:
Doesn't water
get warm around the pressure pump by sitting inside
the machine?
Answer : Radonett has a built-in
pump of the same type which lies in the lower region
of the water in the boring hole (lower pump). Your
boring hole pump doesn't actually warm up the water
and neither does the Radonett built-in lower pump.
A built-in
lower pump is significantly more effective than
external ring pipes. An effective radon aerator has
a shorter processing time and thus, does not warm up
the water. Radonett is in operation only when the
hydrofor/hydropress fills up, not the whole day.
Question: How is
it that it differs so much in price to other radon
aerators?
Answer : The
important thing is the final price after a complete
installation, not solely the purchasing price.
Radonett is delivered completely built, proven, CE
noticed and EPD approved. This means there is a much
quicker installation and thus, a much lower
installation cost than most other manufacturers can
offer. With a CE noticed product, it is the
manufacturer who takes responsibility for the
machine. If a product that is not CE noticed is
installed, then the responsibility lies with the
installer..
Question: There
are less expensive and more expensive radon aerators
that the Radonett. Is a more expensive machine
always better?
Answer :
Radonett manufactures in series and sells in larger
volumes than other manufacturers.
Radonett is
Europe's most sold radon aerator . This renders it
possible to have larger volume purchasing of
components and rational large series manufacturings.
This, in turn, leads to Radonett being able to hold
a higher level of quality and, at the same time, can
sell its products at a lower price than what other
manufacturers are able to with corresponding
components. Not all radon aerators are delivered in
as complete a form as Radonett. Some are sold as
"building sets" which creates a significantly longer
period of time necessary for installation. This
installation often results in the difference to a
"cheap" purchasing price ultimately being made up in
the cost of handling the installation yourself.
Question: How
long does a radon aerator keep?
Answer : A
Radonett only consists of components made of the
finest of quality. Radonett's installations
currently have an average of 5 million operating
hours(!) in all thinkable water qualities. All
Radonett parts are thus carefully examined and
tested.
It's quite
like buying a new car; you operate and service it
regularly, then it'll function properly and have a
long lifespan.
Question: What
guarantees do you have with Radonett?
Answer :
Apart from guarantees of purification (see the
specific model), you receive a 2 year complete
warranty.
The warranty
includes repair and materials, work costs and
naturally even a travel reimbursement for the
repair. Apart from that, your home insurance is
normally also valid for many years in advance
because Radonett is counted as a permanently
installed good. This together with the fact that
Radonett is Europe's most installed and tested radon
aerator vouches for a secure investment.
Question: Are
there any installers close to where I live?
Answer :
Radonett has 268 retailers in 5 countries. Your
usual V&S installer can normally carry out the
installation or call us and we'll inform you about a
good installer in your
area.
